March 2021 Election Update
Staff has been working diligently from 7:30 a.m. through 11:00 p.m. daily (3/3 – 3/6; 3/9 to date) to enable a final canvass Friday, March 12. There are 8,800+ ballots (UPDATE: City Clerk updated a previous email that their original numbers for ballots to be counted was incorrect -did not include an entire days worth of counting. ) that have been verified so far and are being taken out of their envelopes and prepped to be scanned starting at 10:00am Friday March 12th.
Scanning of ballot images will begin at 10:00 a.m. tomorrow in the Chamber Lobby. The public is able to watch from outside the Chamber. In preparation for ballot tabulation beginning at 2pm. The broadcast start time at 2:00pm will inlcude on Channels 41 and 8 on TV, and live-streaming on Redondo.org/rbtv and YouTube. The first round of results to report at 2:30 p.m. if all goes well related to opening ballots and scanning.
Final declaration of Election results is scheduled to go before the City Council, Tuesday, March 16, 2021.
